forScore 14.4Coming Soon

In Perfect Harmony

From collaboration to automation, forScore 14.4 helps you and those around you get the most out of your digital sheet music collection. A new version of Cue, dozens of new shortcuts, improvements to half-page turns, editing enhancements, and more—all part of our latest free update.

Cue 2

Collaboration is easy with Cue, forScore’s remote control protocol and standalone app. We introduced it twelve years ago and have improved it steadily over the years, but it relies on Apple’s Multipeer Connectivity framework which hasn’t been maintained well over the last few years and may be officially deprecated at any time.

To keep our apps in tip-top shape, we decided to create a new version of Cue that leverages Apple’s more reliable and modern networking APIs to provide a better experience. Of course, we know you may need to work with devices that haven’t updated (or can’t) so the original version of the Cue protocol is also available and switching back and forth is easy.

Shortcuts

Automation is becoming increasingly popular, and forScore lets you do a lot using the Shortcuts app. With forScore 14.4, we’ve added dozens of new actions for working with metadata, setlist entries, duplicating items and setlists, cropping, and more.

Thanks to Apple’s updated developer tools for building these actions, it’s finally practical for us to localize all of them so nobody has to miss out. We’re very proud of forScore’s global appeal and we’re excited to be able to provide these components to our users in all fourteen supported languages.

Half-Page Turns

Introduced in forScore 2, half-page turning is one of the most unique features that we’ve pioneered and it hasn’t changed much over the years. Until now.

You’ve always been able to reposition half-page turns so that they split the page up at just the right spot, but until you actually turn the page you can’t see exactly where that point is. Now, just tap and hold the half-page turn icon in the Display Options overlay to turn on indicators—arrows that appear on the right side of each page showing you where the next turn will occur.

Editing

We’ve made a lot of little improvements with forScore 14.4, adding things like the ability to duplicate bookmarks and append or replace MIDI messages when you’re batch editing multiple items.

When you’re working with multiple windows, annotation is now more flexible with independent selection of stamps and shapes so you don’t have to keep switching back and forth to mark up different pages.

forScore Pro

All of the amazing features and upgrades that a forScore Pro subscription unlocks can now be shared with up to five of your family members with a new tier that’s more affordable per person by far. If you want to switch at any time, the in-app subscription management interface makes it incredibly easy to do so.

We know every person’s needs are different, and with more flexibility to choose the option that works best for you it’s never been easier to take full advantage of the ultimate forScore experience.

Coming Soon.

We’re working hard to finish forScore 14.4 and make sure it’s ready for prime time. Until then, you can help us out and get an early look at these new features by becoming a beta tester. For the latest news and announcements, be sure to check out our news page or follow our RSS feed.
